This is a watercolor painting of my cousin's lovely adopted dog, Luna. It was painted as a wedding gift for her and her husband. The painting measures approximately 11" x 14".

Duck
This 8"x10" watercolor painting was done as a wedding gift for some friends of mine. They have an awesome home where they have lots of ducks and chickens, so I thought a painting of one of their animals would be a fun gift.
Prints and products with this piece of art are available for sale right here in my shop.

Tufted Titmouse
"Tufted Titmouse" is an acrylic painting on masonite board, measuring 8" x 8".
The original painting sold earlier this summer through silent auction at the annual Art on the Porches event, through the 40 Below's Public Arts Task Force. At the end of the auction half of the proceeds went to the artist and the other half will go to the Art On The Porches Scholarship Fund and the Public Arts Task Force. It was a great event as always!
Prints and products of the artwork are also for sale in my print shop right here.

Two new paintings! The first one is "Eastern Bluebird" and the second one is "American Robin". They are both 8" x 8" acrylic paintings on masonite board.
These two new paintings are actually available for sale this weekend at the AmericCU Syracuse Arts & Crafts Festival! I painted them this week for a silent auction fundraiser that is being held by 40 Below's Public Arts Task Force.
The price of each painting will start at $20, and at the end of the auction half of the proceeds will go to the artist and the other half will go to the Downtown Committee of Syracuse and the Public Arts Task Force. It's going to be a great event, so be sure to stop by!

Corgi Love
Lots of Corgi love to go around! This little watercolor illustration was done in February for Valentine's Day, though it could be used outside of that holiday as well. Bilbo was kind enough to sit still for a few minutes and let me make some sketches to use for this.
This illustration is currently available in my Society6 shop as a print, but also on a variety of products such as t-shirts, throw pillows, and tote bags.

Catching Up and New Art
Hello everyone! I know it's been a while since my last blog post. I've still been busy with art (and with life!), I just haven't had a chance to sit down and post. It's been several busy months since I last posted.
Over the summer, my husband and I packed up our apartment and finally moved in to a house of our very own! It's all been very exciting, and I found myself wondering how we ever fit all of our belongings in to our apartment. The past few months have been a blur of unpacking and working on the house. I've been painting rooms, decorating, organizing, etc., and it has been taking up a lot of my free time. I'm looking at you, walls that are slowly being de-wallpapered. We're just now ending a very looooooooong winter full of snow and sub-zero temperatures (thank you, kind neighbors who helped us dig out our driveway!), and I couldn't be happier to see the return of sunshine and plants.
My full-time job, working as a high school art teacher, started again in September. The school year has been going by so fast - I can't believe that March is almost over! Crazy! Set design for our annual high school musical is underway (it's Grease this year), so my weekends have been taken up by that lately.
In other, more adorable news, back in October my husband and I brought a puppy home! We now have a Welsh Pembroke Corgi named Bilbo and he is so much fun. He has been a wonderful addition to our new home. I post photos of him on Instagram fairly often, so feel free to follow me there if you want to join in the Corgi cuteness.
Bilbo was my inspiration for the illustration that I made for my annual holiday card The illustration is titled Winter Corgi and was made using a combination Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Winter Corgi is available for sale in my Society6 shop. You can purchase prints of this illustration, as well as mugs, throw pillows, tote bags, and more. Stop by the shop to view all of the options.
Over the next few weeks I plan on getting back in to the swing of sharing artwork on my blog. Don't forget, you can also follow me on Instagram or like my page on Facebook to stay up to date on everything that is going on.

The White Whale
It was so nice to have a quiet afternoon yesterday and to get a chance to play with my watercolor paints. The school year is winding down, which brings with it a whirlwind of events. The next few weeks are going to have all sorts of things going on for my classroom at school - final projects, preparing for the first annual Night Of The Arts student art show, cleaning the room, etc. - so I'm glad I had a chance to get this image out of my head and down on paper yesterday.
The whole thing was done mostly with watercolor paint and masking fluid (you can see me peeling up the masking fluid in the photo below). I added some extra texture at the very end in Photoshop.
This painting is currently available for sale right here through my shop. It looks particularly good on things like the area rugs and the shower curtains.
Also, Society6 is having a little "beginning of the summer" sale, so until the end of today, 5/26, you can get $5 off all t-shirts, v-necks, and tank tops! There is also free worldwide shipping on orders as part of the sale (excluding framed prints, stretched canvases, rugs, and throw pillows with inserts).
The sale ends tonight, 5/26, at Midnight PDT.

Squirrel Loves You
This was originally made for my husband for Valentine's Day, with the added message "I Like You Like You Love You Love You!" It was inspired by this silly little video on Youtube which makes me laugh every time I watch it. Go watch it right now, you won't regret it. We saw it earlier in February and have been joking about it ever since, so it felt appropriate to use it as the inspiration for my annual little piece of art that I make for him. One, two, three, four, and five are a few examples of what I've made for him in previous years.
I used ink with a brush for the outlines, watercolor for most of the rest, and a bit of colored pencil at the end for some details.
The little squirrel is also available right here in my Society6 shop on a variety of products.

Winter Fox - new art!
I was able to find some time today to put together a new piece of art before going back to work from Thanksgiving break. This is a mixed media piece, combining ink paintings that I scanned in to the computer and then colored and layered in Photoshop. The whole thing came together surprisingly fast - it's always nice when that happens!
This design is also available right here in my Society6 shop. Free Worldwide Shipping is still available from my shop, but it ends at the end of the day tomorrow (Monday, December 2nd). Everything in my shop, except for stretched canvas prints and throw pillows with inserts, qualifies for free shipping.

Fox In The Leaves
This weekend, I finished putting together a new piece of autumn inspired art. Autumn is my favorite season - the smells, the food, the colors! I love everything about this time of year. This illustration is a sort of seasonal companion piece to Rabbits In The Garden.
The illustration is available for sale through my Society6 shop. I think that it looks especially nice on the tote bags and pillows. Speaking of tote bags, the design style for the printing of the bags has been upgraded so that the print now fills the whole side of the bag instead of printing on the off-white canvas color like before. I think the change is a big upgrade and love how it looks.

Drawing at the Montreal Biodome
Last weekend, my husband and I took a trip to Montreal. On Sunday morning, we went to the Montreal Biodome that's located in the 1976 Olympic Park. We had a lot of fun watching lynx cubs, otters, puffins, penguins, and other animals. We also both brought our sketchbooks with us so that we could draw the animals while we were there. It was fairly busy, but we were able to find some seats in the Gulf of St. Lawrence exhibit to draw the fish in the aquarium. Or in my case, fish and duck bottoms.
The sketch above shows an Atlantic Sturgeon, a Pollock, and two Black Guillemot Birds. The sketch below shows a puffin. I've also included a few photos that I took while we were there.

Upstream Downstream
There's nothing like some hot weather to make me dream of cool blue waters. Ocean blues and aquas have always been one of my favorite color palettes. I used Illustrator and Photoshop to create this pattern.
This artwork is now available in my Society6 shop. Have a look! Right now, there is free shipping available on your order through Sunday, June 30th.

Rabbits In The Garden
It's been a productive Sunday! Here is a new illustration titled "Rabbits In The Garden". I was in the mood to draw something to do with spring, so I made this in Adobe Illustrator over the span of a few hours today.
If you'd like, you can even play an "I Spy" game with this illustration. You can look for and count rabbits, snails, carrots, radishes, mushrooms, daisies, forget-me-nots, and more! Have fun!
Don't forget, there is still free shipping on purchases from my Society6 shop until midnight tonight, Sunday April 14th!

Brushstroke Cat
This was actually something I had painted years ago but had forgotten about until I cleaned out a box with some of my old artwork and sketchbooks. It was originally painted with ink and a bamboo brush on rice paper. I thought it would make a nice print on t-shirts and tote bags in my shop, so I scanned it into Photoshop and cleaned it up a bit, and here it is!
Also, there is a free shipping promo that is currently running in my shop until midnight on Sunday, April 14, so stop by and take a look.

Rooster - new design
A new design featuring a colorful and patterned rooster. I've been having a lot of fun playing with patterns and shapes in Illustrator lately.
Why a rooster? Well, for a while now I've been very entertained by Karen's awesome backyard chicken coop on The Art of Doing Stuff. While reading one of her chicken posts, I thought it could be fun to do some chicken inspired art. I know she doesn't have a rooster, but I've always thought their feathers are so much fun. Hence this guy! I think I might go back at some point and make some chickens to go along with the rooster - how cute could a couch look with a bunch of rooster and chicken pillows?
This design is available for sale right here in my Society6 shop.
