Foggy Forest

Here's a piece that I made this winter during one of our man snow days. "Foggy Forest", 18" x 24", made through a combination of ink painting and digital work. This piece is available right here in my print shop as a high quality print, as well as on a variety of products.

Not Today

"There is only one thing we say to Death."  Here's a design that Game Of Thrones fans might like.  If you click on the larger view, you can see the wolves that are tucked away in the circle. 

I've been wanting to try a design using hand drawn or painted lettering, and I thought that this phrase would be perfect to try out for a design.  I painted the words with ink and then scanned and assembled everything in Photoshop.

Audrey Hepburn

It's been a productive art weekend for me! I started this picture last night and finished it this morning.  I drew the portrait of Audrey Hepburn on watercolor paper using both a micron pen and a brush with ink.  After scanning it and bringing the portrait in to Photoshop, I added the color as well as the flowers that I had drawn and scanned separately.

Brushstroke Cat

This was actually something I had painted years ago but had forgotten about until I cleaned out a box with some of my old artwork and sketchbooks.  It was originally painted with ink and a bamboo brush on rice paper.  I thought it would make a nice print on t-shirts and tote bags in my shop, so I scanned it into Photoshop and cleaned it up a bit, and here it is!

Lady Mary

To celebrate Downton Abbey's return to US television for its third season, here is a portrait of Lady Mary Crawley.  This was drawn with Micron pens and black Prismacolor pencil on Bristol board, and then painted with ink washes.  The final portrait measures 9" x 12".  Prints of this are available through my Society6 shop.

Hope For Japan

The tragedy going on in Japan right now is unimaginable. Earthquakes, tsunami waves, fires, nuclear leaks...it seems like they've been hit with just about everything. I've been reading the news quite a bit since I woke up to the headlines yesterday morning and my heart goes out to all of those people.

This illustration is my response to the whole situation, offering some hope in my own little way. I used sumi ink, watercolor paper, and Photoshop to put it together this morning.
