William's Pirate Ship

After William (age 7) finished his project for the day last week, he decided he wanted to make his own story book about an imaginary pirate ship. His three page book was so adorable that I felt it needed to be shared. I'm a big fan of his pirate characters - with stern expressions like that, you know they mean business.

Vineyard Gazette Story

Last week the Vineyard Gazette sent a writer and a photographer to sit in on my art class at the gallery for a newspaper story. It was the week that the kids were learning about art from around the world, and Friday was mask making day. I had brought in photo examples of masks from all different cultures around the world, as well as some examples of masks from pop culture (aka Batman, Zorro, Lion King on Broadway). The story came out yesterday, and they did a wonderful job. I'm very happy with it.

Dear Miss Jackie

I have some of the cutest kids ever in my class. This was from Jake. His last day of class was last Friday.
